Type of run: Slow recovery run 50 mins
Time: 48:44
Description: Nick, Tim, and I started down to rail trail. But stayed on the road adjacent to the rail trail. We went into the grave yard and did a 5min loop. we came out at 15 mins so we decided to go 9 mins out then turn around and do the same thing back. we ran to the dead end and continued on the rail trail to the high bridge. At that point we turned around and ran back down that road to the grave yard and did the loop. we came out with more time then the previous. So we decided to run a little slower. then we got to pencil hill and we took it easy up the hill. But when we past a group of giggling Indian(subcontinent people)chicks we picked up the pace up the last steep hill. We cruised lightly up the gently sloping hill ad then stretched outside. underneath the pine trees by elting gym.
Additional notes: It was a painful day for all of us. Alex and rob were hurting and couldn't run. So they did the elliptical. Tim and Nick were soar from the workout the day before. I felt like battery acid was in my veins. And because of that my legs felt every step of the way. My legs were not getting enough oxygen. So the aches and pains commenced. The night before I got drunk the first time since the cold deep winter. The day before I did a set or two of sub six min pace for 10 mins.
Result: I learned don't drink and run the next day. I begin to see Greg has got us into mileage that is breaking down the team. we don't have a large enough base. Tim and Alex especially need to tone down their efforts. I need to not drink as much as once. it was fun. Today's run was a morale building group run even though we were all in pain. we all knew why. so we could all confine in each other. Which made all the pain seam worth it.
