April 23, 2007 Practice - 40:25

Time: 40:25 and 6 x 75m strides
Type of run: Easy steady state a little uncomfortable talking but not horribly so. It was brisk but not tempo pace.
Description: Ran from Elting gym coach's parking lot down to the rail trail east. Down the big hill we all ran as a group. Once on the rail trail I had to stop to tie my shoe. Everyone else continued to run. I finished tieing my shoes and accelerated to meet the rest of the group including Coach Mike. Coach mike and I slowly broke away from the main pack and continued to do so. We ran to the end of the bridge in 20 mins turned around and met up the rest of the guys past the miniature bridge. They were confused why we were going faster then them and why we turned around early because Coach Greg wanted it to be an easy run. They turned around and stuck with mike and I for 5 mins. Then fell back. Mike and I talked about the future team, commitment, leadership and running this past weekend. We kept the same pace all the way back to the school. Then waited for the rest of the team and he had us do strides in the field next to the tennis courts. We walked to the front of the new gym and stretched.
Result: I felt confident that I could run with mike. Felt fine. No extra tightness. Right Knee near plica removal did bother me a little bit in class afterwards but it wasn't an alarming pain. Just a stretching pain that continued from the day before.
Additional Notes: Running with Mike was fun and refreshing. It almost felt like running with Greg with the Fall 2004 season. A lot of 1 on 1 interaction and learning.
